Rotating Machines

Supporting low, medium, and high voltage rotating equipment across all sectors

LHM specialises in the servicing and rewinding of rotating electrical machines including induction motors, synchronous motors, DC motors and alternators. We support equipment across sectors such as mining, water, energy and municipal operations where reliable machine performance is essential.

Our facilities handle machines ranging from fractional kilowatt units up to 63MW. Modern diagnostic equipment is used for insulation assessment, mechanical evaluation and electrical testing to determine machine condition and required repairs. Computerised data checking and precision coil winding processes support accurate refurbishment.

Vacuum pressure impregnation systems improve insulation strength and durability across low voltage, DC and high voltage machines. Dedicated test bays allow performance verification for motors up to 1MW and larger machines up to 21.3MW and 13.2kV.

About Our Rotating Machines Capabilities

Our team has extensive experience across a wide range of rotating equipment. We provide full in-house diagnostics, rotor and stator rewinds, shaft replacement and mechanical repairs to restore machines to reliable operating condition.

Key services include full machine diagnostics, rotor and stator rewinds, shaft replacement and mechanical repairs.

Dynamic testing and balancing are performed to confirm mechanical stability and operational safety before equipment is returned to service. Our workshop is equipped with high-capacity cranes and specialised balancing equipment to safely handle large rotating components.

In addition to workshop services, LH Marthinusen provides onsite condition monitoring, machine installation and commissioning support. Advanced diagnostics such as vibration analysis, laser alignment and core testing help identify potential issues early and support long term equipment reliability.
